Antwerp office expands with Vincent de Weert

At the beginning of this year, BMT Surveys Antwerp expanded its forces with mechanical engineer Vincent de Weert, who started as surveyor in a broad maritime field. “With this addition to the staff we not only succeeded in the necessary expansion of our team of experts –from eight to nine surveyors – but also the wish to rejuvenate. A deliberate choice as we look towards the future.”, Managing Director Carlos Maenhout explains.

Vincent de Weert (33) has attended Nautical college, majoring in mechanical engineering. After that he worked for years as chief engineer on various vessels, including dredgers, tankers, bulk carriers and other cargo vessels.

BMT Surveys Antwerp was set up in 1990 and since 2005 the office, currently employing 14 people, is led by Carlos Maenhout. This steadily growing branch office is active in practically every occurring maritime damage, investigating and audit work, especially performed on the instruction of underwriters, P&I clubs and shipping companies.
